Green Catbird..EDIT: NOT Green but SPOTTED Catbird???
Lens: PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4. 5-5.6 ED DC AW Camera: Pentax K3 iii Photo Location: Atherton Tablelands Shutter Speed: 1/1500s Aperture: F5.6

I had never even heard of this bird, let alone seen it. Actual shutter speed recorded by the K3iii was 1/1600, not the 1/1500 allowed in the drop list choice here. Taken outside my room at the Chambers Wildlife Rainforest Lodge on the Atherton Tablelands.

Very nice shot. You hear them calling constantly down at Binna Burra and Lamington. But, like you, I have never seen one before.

Wonderful shot. Quite different colors and feather pattern but beautiful. We have cat birds, but none like this one. Thanks for posting.

We have catbirds here. They are not green, and look almost nothing like this one.

Outstanding capture! It is a real beauty with a very interesting feather pattern on its breast and head.

Gorgeous! Nothing like the catbirds we have here, they're attractive but plain gray with a black cap.

I have changed my opinion on the identification of this bird from Green to Spotted Catbird based on an alternative ID suggested by a friend, and further research. The Green Catbird does not have the black spot around the ear that this one has, and also the Green Catbird's habitat apparently does not extend as far north as I was when I took the pick (Atherton tablelands near Lake Eacham. On the other hand that area IS recognised as part of the Spotted Catbird's habitat. More knowledgable birders than myself might like to wade in here??
