Venus passage 2012
Lens: 150 mm Maksutov telescope Camera: K-30 Photo Location: Kristiansand - Norway

Going through som old files and found this one ; The latest Venus passage in June 2012 as seen through one of my telescopes.
My Pentax k-30 was mounted by an adapter and My SkyWatcher 150 Pro Maksutov did the job as a lens.

Cool shot. My son did a similar shot. I'm looking forward to the solar eclipse in 2024. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Mike, looking forward to the very same, but not sure how mutch we will be affected of it here in southern Norway.

The portent of this image is mind-bending for me.
Just a huge red circle, containing a mini black circle, and a few little dots.
That is all that our camera sees. But our eyes cannot see even that!
And yet, the portent of those circles are beyond human comprehension!
Good shot--good use of the photographic medium!

Excellent! Unfortunately it was cloudy that day where I was, otherwise I would have at least tried to observe it.

It is mind bending thinking about distances and number of objects out there for sure.
