Hello members,
Some month ago (in September) we had the pleasure to enjoy the 24 Hours of Barcelona 2021.

For me personally it has been some years since I was not able to join this event as a photographer and I really like this event.
Unfortunatelly my main lens is not 100% healthy so I covered the event without it. I did with Pentax K3-II + Pentax K3 + Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 and Pentax 50-135mm f2.8 as my main zoom.

I hope you like the following images

Before starting

And the race went on !










The hours went on and so the light started to shade











I got creative












There were some pit stops





The night came in



Also troubles shown up



Pit stops where done





We found some fires





And I left home to sleep some hours before being there for the sunrise.

And what a beautiful sunrise it was this year









And then the lowest point (phisical and moral for everyone maybe) is the last hours with plain light so before that I tried to capture some more images








And then.... it ended up! With both Porsche 911 GT3 winning !!

Love the night shot with the bright red brake disk. I wonder how long the brakes last on one of these races. Part of why ford won la mans in the 60’s was the ability to change out rotors in pit stops, in less than a minute

Yes those images are spectacular.

Usually teams do change brakes and pads every X hours in this kind of races. And they are quite very quick !

Nice pix as always. I noticed in of your pictures, a Porsche racing driver has a Bell helmet on. I still have my Bell Magnum, which was Snell Approved.

I bought it in 1978...for motorcycle riding. I still have it, but will not wear it when riding a motorcycle, , as the safety features in a helmet is deteriorates about 5 years or so, and then it's time to get another helmet.

Yes Bell is still a reference brand and many (I think) still use them. Yes it is a shame that they deterior in 5 years time. I did have 4 crash helmets in my life and the latest was the safest but also it's been 5 or more years since I bought it new so if I'd have kept my scooter, I'd have needed a replacement already.
