Nature Victoria's Riflebird

It was 6.24am and low light, and I was determined to cap the ISO below 1600. I think I used fillin flash. The exif did say flash was on, but it didn't say flash fired, so I am not sure what to make of that. Taken just outside my accommodation in the Lake Eacham area of the Atherton Tablelands.

But it all seemed to work out OK.

It worked very well. Like that green chevron on the bird's body. Good focus.

I don't see any flash catchlight in the eye, so maybe it did not flash.
But it is a very impressive catch!
Especially the underside of the face which is not always that clear.
