Fallen leaf in the evening
Lens: DA SMC 35mm Limited f2.8 Macro Camera: K-5 Photo Location: New Mexico ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/30s Aperture: F11

Very nice in all its simplicity. Just wondering, why F11, as the target doesn't seem to need so much DOF?

Thanks, 5ks!

F11 I think was just a hedge against camera movement between setting focus and firing the shutter. It was relatively short range (small leaf) and an awkward bent over squatting position with the camera held out away from me in order to keep my shadow or my knees out of the frame.

Either that or it was at f11 for the previous shot (columned doorway with a lawn and an interesting wrought iron fence) and I justified leaving it there with the above thought process ;-)

Nice use of light & shadow.
And the "surprising" shape and color of a poplar leaf on that geometric background really brings it out.
