Giants At Sunrise
Lens: Vario_Sonnar T* 28-100 Camera: Sony DSC-RX100 Photo Location: Sacramento Valley ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/50s Aperture: F11

I just stumbled across this jpg image I did about a year ago--before I knew much about digital imaging.
Shot with my P&S Sony very early in the morning in a nearby wooded area.
Would like to find the original RAW image (I think I knew what those were, and saved them, at that time).
Just now stumbling upon it in an obscure folder, and liking it, I thought I'd share it with you folks.
Angky.

It's got that misty mystical look. I can't quite decide if it's delightfully creepy or just relaxing... Going with mystical. Yep.

The mourning light gives a nice tone to the scene and provides highlights to reveal the giant trees. It is beautiful, but in some ways a bit sinister. Good composition and capture.

Superb shot Angky! These are favorite types of images of mine, and you got a really good one here. I really like the composition with the two large trees acting like a gateway into the woods beyond. Well done!

It was a bit of an intense and dramatic misty morning.
Mystical is the right choice!

Sinister or ominous is the feeling I had when I shot it.
You got it pretty well!

A fairy tale!
Exactly! You named it! The brooding side of it.
Thanks!

Thank you much, Todd!
Appreciate the evaluation.
And it seems like you often see the same sort of things I see--as you demonstrate here!

I remember being quite surprised by that lighting when it happened, and darting through the poison-oak bushes very fast to get that shot.

Nice mood, well captured - that you had not much experience then does not show in this image

THank you for your comment.
Actually, I had not much experience with digital imaging. With film, I have had quite a few years--which helped a lot here.

The light I did not provide.
But I am glad I saw it in time to capture it!
