Sunset near Lubec, ME · **1 Like**

Found myself out and about with nothing but my cell phone - the tidal range up in Lubec (US side of the Bay of Fundy) is extraordinary!

I would have also taken that photo with any camera that I had available. Beautiful colors in the sky. Like the tree silhouette on the left and the tree line touching the shy.

Interesting capture!
And I've heard there is a huge tide differential in that area. Now I can see evidence of it.

No sunset today - but the tide is high and there was some very cool light through the clouds on the shoreline to the east - almost the exact opposite side of the bay from yesterday's sunset shot. The bright spec of light to the left of the island is a lighthouse, flashes every 6 seconds - can't say that I planned to get that in this shot. The fishing boats are in the US, as is the island on center, the shoreline to the right is Canadian (Campobelo Island). This is a great place to be walking around with a camera!
