Black & White Pencil and Paper

One of the first shots with my new-to-me 100 macro - a lens I've had eyes on for several years... maybe not the most interesting shot, but I like the lines of the grid paper as they taper out of focus.

Interesting point. This is actually a good exercise to see how the lens performs. Have you tried different apertures?

I like macro shots of just about any everyday tool such as a pencil or pen, etc. They provide a detailed view of the machining and components that go into them. Good work!

Well, that lens certainly is working for you in this shot!
And this is a good measure of what the 5.6 aperture does at this focusing distance.

Thanks - I did try at several, and was pretty happy with how it performed anywhere. I chose this shot for the balance of DoF that I liked

Thanks Todd, I was sitting working at my desk and then this shot popped into mind as I put my pencil down.

Haha, quite they opposite in fact. I find there's just not enough time to practice as much as I should with all that school work... nor much time to have fun with that class glass...
