Matagarup Bridge.
Lens: Sigma 18--250 Camera: K70 Photo Location: Western Australia.

This is the Matagarup Bridge, linking East Perth to the eastern side of the Swan River.
Pedestrians and cyclists only. No vehicular traffic.
Perth, Western Australia.

What a curious bit of architecture and engineering! Did they get a bargain on leftover rollercoaster trusses? All kidding aside, really quite sharp across the whole span at f/8 - finding the right vantage point was probably tricky. Perhaps a polarizer would have helped the color a bit. Nicely done.

Terrific capture of this unique bridge! The engineers must have had some fun with this one.

Nice work - both the bridge and the photo.

Why didn't they build an amusement park at the same time on the bridge? Or maybe they tried, but ran out of money?

Bridge designed, not so much for efficiency, but for art.
And it certainly does have eye appeal!

That is an incredible structure, and amazing that it's dedicated to pedestrians and cyclists.

Is the same prioritization evident elsewhere in Perth?

For cyclist, yes. There are several hundred kms of wide two lane cycleways in Perth and surrounds.

I cannot imagine why anybody would even consider doing that on this bridge. It is designed as a pedestrian / cyclist thoroughfare.

Design and engineering features of this bridge are terrific. Would love to see things like this here. Excellent capture.
