It's a very rare event for me to buy a brand-new lens. Most of my 60 Pentax lenses (K-mount, 645 and 67) were bought used on eBay. Trying this new lens on my K3 will be my "winter project".

First image is freezing rain on my patio door : 35 mm FL, 1/30 sec @ f/8 and ISO 100. Second image also freezing rain on a glass : 48 mm FL, 1/30 sec @ f/8 and ISO 100. Third image is of my kitchen (Don't you dare mock my old house ...) : 16 mm FL, 1/6 sec @ f/4.5 and ISO 400. Images seem very sharp, focusing is silent, precise and fast. I think I will LOVE this zoom lens.

I use the Pentax 16-85 on my K-3 II. It is an excellent lens.

Great image, it was.
Maybe this new lens also does that sort of thing?
I use this lens on my K10D. I seem to have the tiniest bit of focus issues (just my old eyes?) at extreme close-up "macro" distances with the K10D, but the pair works fine otherwise, and great also on the K1 in crop mode.
Looking forward to your use of it for some good shots.

Thank you all for your encouraging words. I feel this HD DA 16-85 mm ED lens will fulfill wonderfully my needs for a wide to normal focal length zoom lens. The lens will be paired with the HD DA 55-300 mm ED telezoom which has proved to be excellent on my K3. This combo will be my "light travel kit".
