Nice stuff, very surreal! #2 is neato.

So, let me ask, was it painful shooting with bare hands, or a pain to shoot with gloves on?

I usually opt Program mode and leave the gloves on

When I had very young sons with me, We'd pull over (safe spot) and brake off icicles to reconnect them horizontally off a rock viewable from the road by spitting on them until they refroze. Sometimes we'd even hear stories: "I saw the oddest thing today on my way ..." The ones in the first picture would have raised a cry!

Feeling nostalgic for those days.

Nice images.

'Cool' pics Pat!
I really like the second one. Looks like some big mutant foot.

Thanks for sharing.

Bigben ... Thanks! I had fingerless gloves so it was a little nippy. I keep a pair of fingerless gloves in my camera bag.

Taff ... Thanks!

Pat ... Thanks!

metroeloise ... Thats hilarious! I'll have to do that one of these days!

J.Scott ... Yup, thats what I thought when I saw that icecicle, like the Hulks foot!

Jmr ... Thanks! I wonder what size boot it wears

When I winter hike I especially see ice formations like these in streams throughout the trails of northern New England. You have done a wonderful job capturing Nature's ice sculptures--thanks!

They're great Pat nature is more abstract than we can ever be, the best we can do is try and capture it. You did a good job on this occasion.
