Black Angus Bull In Lower Pasture

"You kids stay out of that lower pasture!
The big black bull is in there!"

Sorry guys! I just couldn't help it!
The sight took me back more than a few decades!

That dumb angus bull; we finally ate him!
Put him in with a cow and he would run over to a fence post and rear up on it!
Dumb!!!
Angky.

Too funny. Did he have a name?

Regardless, great shot, nicely framed!

With stories like that who needs pictures. The view and image, however, did evoke the story. Good humor and a well composed photo. Good work.

We never named him. Just referred to him as the dummy--or something like that.
Thanks for the comment.

Yes, he got butchered while still pretty young--since he couldn't figure important things out.
So the meat was really good.
Thanks for the compliment.

Yeah, I kinda felt sorry too, since he was my responsibility--and was sort of a pet--at least before he grew up.
That's the way life went for poor farmers though.
Thanks for the note.

Well, it wasn't so humorous when Mom came storming into the house all furious about the stupid bull, and the cow not bred. Had to pay for the cow to get bred, and we already had a "good" bull!
Yeah, I do still find it funny now thinking back on it.
Couldn't tell the difference between a cow's back end and the top end of a cedar fence post!!!
Thanks for your note on the photo.

This old guy is a totally different bull!
He's been doing his job diligently for a few years (not on fence-posts).
He's now only good for hamburger.
Thanks for the comment.
