Snow and Ice on my White Pine tree, following an episode of freezing rain.
Lens: 8.8-220 mm zoom Camera: Canon G3X Photo Location: Quebec, CANADA ISO: 125 Shutter Speed: 1/160s Aperture: F5.6

When the sun comes back after a couple of days of freezing rain, a dazzling show is offered by Nature. My little 20 Mpx G3X superzoom excels at this kind of pictures.

Nice close up of the ice and snow on the pines. Looks cold. It's pretty, but I could live without freezing rain. Thanks for posting.

Cold ? Around -10 degrees C (close to 15 degree F). A "mild day" around here ... lol !

Best Regards

Beautiful image! I really like how the light catches the ice in the background creating sparkling little diamonds.

When I saw the title, I was expecting yet another full pic of a tree with ice and snow picture. When I saw what you'd done, I said, "Wow!".

Thank you all for your words of appreciation. The secret is early morning light coming from the back to outline the close details and create those beautiful sparkles in the background. This Canon zoom lens is the most complicated optical instrument I ever possessed (22 elements), yet it performs remarkably. Only discrepancy is its cold rendering (not a "wintry pun"), unlike my preferred "warm" Pentax pictures.

Receive my very Best Regards
