This guy came and allowed me to get fairly close without moving... about 20' away or so. I should have closed the aperture down a little bit, but got lost in the moment b/c i thought he was going to fly away any second.

Very nice! My last attempts to get close to them went so wrong I felt myself as a predator.

I think you nailed him very well with the open aperture (F4). The background (bokeh) is great now.

They are very wary, for sure. At my former boss's garden, one would visit fairly regularly, but you couldn't get anywhere near it. This is a great image!

Nice shot. It's difficult to get that close. Glad that you were able to complete the shot.

Super capture! I think that shooting it at f4 ended up a success with this shot, and it really helped isolate the bird.

This one and another are basically unphased by human presence (separate thread incoming. so much for the "once in a lifetime" thing lol). I think they were hoping we'd leave the dogs (mini-dachshund) outside unattended.

Thx! It was perched on a branch next to the steps going into my house. I noticed it just walking normal path. I'd feel same way if it was chillin out in its home.
