Good grief Todd, why not just invite it into your camera. That is a beautifully done macro. One that you can count the hairs on each leg. The details are great and the colors are so vivid. Very well done.

I went outside early this morning while it was still in the low 40's and they weren't moving much. I just stuck my lens right up to this one.

This second image is even closer. Detail again is exceptional. I recently acquired a Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX Macro. I hope that I can get improved results using this lens. Thanks for showing what can achieved.

I think you can't go wrong with a Sigma macro as EM said. Sigma, Pentax, Irix - they all make excellent macro lenses. I only wish Pentax had come up with a current longer one than their 100mm, but Irix stepped in and has produced a very nice lens at 150mm. Good thing, because it seems that is all that I have been photographing as of late...

Mike sure said it! :
And you just proved my point that somebody should confiscate that Irix glass!
Beautiful flower, totally contaminated by some of the ugliest fly hairs that I have ever seen!
(And I don't regret that, up until now, I have never seen such!)
Angky.

Thanks! It was hopping around from flower to flower and paid little attention to me, luckily.
