The Gippsland Water Dragons were keeping an eye on me. Just one.

Very nice work there, Rob. The water dragon shot is particularly good, I think.

Thank you! Luckily there's lots of dragons around the rock garden to practice on!

Amazing series of photos! And what a great place you have, the botanic gardens, for this type of photography.

Thanks! For some reason, quite a few Australian birds have red eyes.

Thanks! Yes, the gardens are a real hotspot for birds because there's so many Australian plants in one relatively small area. The water dragons have taken up residence at the rock garden too. It's one of the benefits of living in the Federal capital. None of the birds or animals are captive by the way; they are just attracted by the plants. The local forest is quite dry in nature, but by careful use of water, there's even a gully with rainforest plants. There's also a few specimens of the "dinosaur plant", the Wollemi Pine. Canberra actually has quite a lot of interesting things to do and see!

Fabulous, Rob! I love botanical gardens, yours looks like an amazing place! I can't wait to get out to ours...soon, I hope, once the weather settles down. Quite unusually hot and muggy here, for December. These are terrific images, thanks for sharing them!

In most botanical gardens, you don't see much wildlife. Maybe butterflies. This is a special place as it attracts birds and wildlife. As always you have provided us with exceptional photos. Thanks much for posting.
