They stand out against that blue sky. As always love seeing them on the cactus. Great detail and colors. Nice shot.

Unfortunately, their attractiveness is only skin deep.
Once you get beyond the skin, they are obnoxious birds.
At one time, we had a wooden bird feeder, and a flock was like a motorcycle club, taking over all the perching places so the other birds could go elsewhere.
Several other times, a Starling would take over part of a feeder, chasing away other birds, and resulting in an "Emperor of the Feeder" photo.

I am told that someone intentionally imported those {awful} things so that American parks could feature them just as English parks do,

BTW - this is a nice photo, though.

It is a very nice image. It is too bad they adapted to the cactus. I believe you said in an earlier post that they take nesting holes away from the woodpeckers. Almost every time a non-native species is introduced somewhere, there are bad consequences.

Good shot. They seem indeed a bit angry.

Very good image of a colorful but miserably obnoxious bird.
I know a lot of farming folks who would love to have something other than a camera focused on them!
Interesting image, nonetheless!
Angkhy.
