Anticlamactic Summit

I have been trying to reach the summit of this mount for a while. I was hoping to see a majestic view of the other side. Instead, the trail just starting to descend. Nothing special. Sorry. Peaceful though.

Looks like an Eastern summit to me! Kinda flat, with rocks sticking out of leaf litter. Pretty different compared to the newer western mountains. A familiar view, reminds me of the woods I grew up in. Thanks for sharing!

Sometimes what you get is not what you expected. Looks like some of the terrain you might see on a trail at Petit Jean State Park. Nice light in the shot.

"Nice light" - I agree. And the kind of peacefulness in this image is a strength, too.

That's how life is.
Some times the "other side of the mountain" looks just like the side you are already familiar with.

I've had this experience, too. It's frustrating, but aside from starting a fire to clear the view (not recommended), what can you do but try somewhere else?
