Great Blue Heron on Tree Branch
Lens: Sigma 150-500 DG OS for Pentax Camera: Pentax K-3 II Photo Location: NY (woods near Lake Champlain) ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/320s Aperture: F13.5

This is a crop of a shot that I took of this Great Blue Heron on a nice afternoon. The sunlight lit the scene nicely. I used a +0.3 EV setting. I took quite a few shots of the scene due to the different positions the heron was taking.

Nice capture! The exposure came out very well bringing out all of its feathery details.

Very nice shot. Agree with Todd on this one. If I pay attention to shot details and settings, I may be able to improve my own photography. Thanks for sharing.

Obviously he was aware of the importance of that camera--posing with each feather perfectly displayed!
Angky.

Thanks. I also liked how the detail and lighting came out. Like I mentioned, the sun was really helpful.

Thank you. The settings that I used worked out well with this shot. The ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed all worked out fine, with just the little bit of +0.3 EV for a slight bit of more brightness.

Thank you. It was there on that branch for a while. Branches like that near the lake shore are kind of convenient for sunning or looking at the water.
