Happy Canon Shooters

I went out, it was -15ºC, my hands froze and surprisingly, there weren't a lot of birds around.

But I met these guys.

Two former Canon 1dx shooters now shooting R5s. The one on the left bought two, and said he has rarely had two, reliability issues are keeping him from carrying a back up. The latest being you can spin the dial, but the settings don't change. It doesn't seem as reliable as a Pentax, but just a sample of one. The other guy reported no issues.

At that temperature, I don't think that I would out shooting with any camera. Birds were pretty smart to take the day off.

If I don't go shooting when the sun is out, my wife will make me go shopping, and I'll get bored.

Great shot - there's a certain "camera-derie" that comes from shooting in cold weather, no matter what the conditions. Looks like you guys were having fun!

I remember more than one cold day with my Pentax gear - K1 and 645Z and no issues.

I still have a Canon 5D Mark IV to shoot video, and the 5D II is stuck on the microscope. A modified 6D was the best astro camera I've had until the K1, and the 6D has a new home in the Sierras in California.

Understood. If I lived in your area, I'm sure that I would find a way to get out and shoot also. The winter provides some of the prettiest scenes available.

The birds need more food on cold days, you are more likely to have success.
