The trip was in the summer, but just now decided to try some bw conversions...

C & C always appreciated!

Yes, there is such a word! Expansive and majestic also come to mind. I don't know the exact location of where the first two were taken (Lamar Valley?), but they show the essence of that part of the world. Parts of Yellowstone are in the state of Montana. That state's motto? "Big Sky Country".

Very appropriate, I'd say.

(Spent two years of my youth just north of Yellowstone...part of me never left...)
The first shot was taken nea Mammoth, between Mammoth and Norris.

The Second is on the way out to the Lamar valley, right around Roosevelt

Very, very good images.

I'm gonna also add that the bottom third of the river and rocks scene needs to be cropped because of the noise or artifacts created in the splashing water.
The mountain and landscapes of the first two are so good and who does not like even a less than perfect shot of a bison?
Good stuff, Maynard.

er....wow!

if there's one thing about the States which never fails to impress it's the sheer size of the place and just how MASSIVE those landscapes can be.

#2 just blows me away! food for the eyes.

Very dramatic images, #2 particularly so. Very well done.

I almost made it to Yellowstone this summer but had to postpone the trip. These images rub it in a bit
