The large, flattish rock (would make a good skipping stone for a giant!) suspended over the small pool grabbed my eye. Not my normal genre, so.....it works? it doesn't work?

It works. Yes the giant put it aside for later use and the couldn't find it. That's how it got there. Lucky for you that you got the picture before he returned. Good image of the flat rock in it's resting place. Based on the people in the image, it is quite large.
