How did you achieve that 60's 'filmish' look? I think the PP works well in these type of shots....

yes PP works well.
I applied cross Processing followed by vingette and 1 layer of B&W with opacitty of 30%

Yes, the image looks like it came from a negative or even a scan of a print. Nice shot, and I really do prefer candids and environmental portraits to formal settings. By the way, the process Fragla describes works well for landscapes as well.
