An earlier series of canvas back swimming photos had me set the camera a bit slow but a couple of tries were OK .

Good panning will get some nice shots even when the shutter speed slower than desirable. Good shot here. The sun on the bird's face, tail and wing is nice.

These birds hunt while flying low which is handy IF you can react . Your kind comments are welcome.

A very nice catch, you had the camera out at the right time.

Glad to see what a harrier looks like when hunting.
The feather coloring patterns are quite interesting!

I presume this was hand-held. In which case that is one hell of a result at 1/125 for hand-holding the 150-450 with the 1.4x on! I would not have tried this at anything less than 1/2000 and would have counted myself lucky if i got what you got here at 1/124s.

Good work!!

Your comments are kind but 125 was the posted ISO . My errors dwarf yours sir.

Gleep!! First place you go blind is in the eyeballs!!! Even so, 1/640s is still slow for this type of shot with that lens combo, unless you had a fence post, branch, rock or whatever to provide some support.
These days, I try not to go below 1/2000th of a second!

You are right about hand holding .In my case with essential tremor a monopod is best . Your thoughtful comments are welcomed.
