Bush Stone Curlew Stradbroke Island
Lens: PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4. 5-5.6 ED DC AW Camera: Pentax K3 iii Photo Location: North Stradbroke Island ISO: 2000 Shutter Speed: 1/2000s Aperture: F7.1

This little guy was wandering around a small picnic/camping area near Cylinder Beach on North Stradbroke island. I didn't have to chase him, as he did a number of complete circuits around the area, relatively unfazed by the human traffic going by. So I just remained seated at a picnic table, elbows on the table to help support the Monster (Pentax 150-450mm). This shot must have been close to the lens' minimum focusing distance!!!

Super job! Literally - in your face photography . . . and that's a good thing.

You don't think you need to do a bit of sharpening just to bring up the detail in the eye? Or the molecules of soil on the tip of the beak?
I guess this is good evidence that patience is a virtue!
Great image!

You had me scrambling to check if I had posted a non-processed version of this shot!!! Did you check the Flickr version, or just this post? I thought the Flickr version had all of that looking a little sharper. I checked the settings in my PP software (DxO Photolab 5) and I had applied a very small amount of Detail sharpening but no Global sharpening (I also used the Clearview setting, but at a very pulled back intensity level) so your comment is probably fair!!

No! Not at all!
That is my version of my left-handed humor!
Sorry to confuse you!
I was extremely impressed with the detail. I mean I was EXTREMELY impressed with the very fine detail in that shot!!!
So my comment did not mean what it sounded like...
There is a linguistic term for this kind of humor, but I can't recall it. Something about overstating a negative to emphasize astonishment at the positive.
My apologies for sounding the opposite of what I meant and thereby bringing confusion.
This image is one that, by its sheer detail, just blows me away!
Very good image, in my observation!!!
Angky.

Now you have got my head all swelled up!!!! No offence was taken with my mis-interpretation anyway!
