Cedar waxwings used to be the bane of our family's blueberries!
Yet they are certainly a pretty bird!
Like this image you have here--very attractive shot.
Glad you posted it.

Wow, I'm not that far south of you and I never see cedar waxwings in the winter. Nice job catching this one!

Great capture of a cedar waxwing Al! The isolation of the bird and branch against that beautiful background is really outstanding.

Angky.

I'm glad you like it! Yes they are definitely fond of berries! In my yard we have catbirds that get 99.9% of our blueberries.

Thank you! We get them here locally abundant at times in the fall and winter. This shot was taken along the CT river .. This past summer we had a pair in the woods next to my house breeding, that was a first, usually we may see a group of 20-30 stop off at a berry tree in the winter , they clean it off and move on. The one in this thread was in a group of about 30 actively feeding with a flock of robins.

Cedar Waxwings are very beautiful birds. Looks like they wear a Lone Ranger mask. Where there is one, there are usually plenty. This is an excellent capture of the bird doing what it likes best. Wonderful colors and features of the bird with an equally good background.

Thank you Mike! They are one of my favorite birds. I caught this group late afternoon, lighting was filtered through clouds.
