A picture perfect outing
Lens: Sigma 50-500 Camera: k5IIs Photo Location: Saugus Ma. ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/800s Aperture: F9

What a treat for me here in Saugus Ma. 2-12-22. This pair of bald eagles were basking in the sun and I was able to get 100ft. from them to take the shots. They hang around the salt marsh area here and love to fish. I used my Bigma lens hand held. (Sigma 50mm-500mm) at around 300mm-400mm for this outing. I was very happy with the results.---Charlie Zapolski.--Have a nice Valentine's Day tomorrow.--charliezap

Great shots of these baldies!

I'd love to see one perched, so I'd have a chance to get some shots like these, too.

Where were they banded?

An "Eagle Eyed" Face Book friend of mine noticed that the eagle on the left is banded with what looks like "W V" I'm in the process of finding out the origin of the banding and I didn't know that the female eagle is bigger than the male. Maybe someone can help me out.--charliezap

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service - Migratory Bird Program | Conserving America's Birds This is a good place to start , having some numbers , letters or symbols can help . Perhaps some location info or better yet GPS data could help . With enough info the birds bio. could be on file .

This image was from about 300 meters and had to be cropped enough to read .
You are on an interesting path , good luck .

Great shots. I haven't had opportunities for any photos like these in many years. Thanks for sharing them.
