An adult male anhinga drying out his feathers after stalking fish under water in the marsh.

Striking feather patterns!
No wonder he's been conditioned to dry them! How else could we see them so well?

Very good images. Don't believe that I've every seen this bird. Great capture of the wings displayed while drying. Love those patterns in the black and white feathers. Nicely done.

Dunno where the OP captured this fella, but this is an excellent capture of the way they dry off. Anhingas have no oil glands to waterproof their feathers, so after a few dives they have to get out of the water and dry themselves off. The females are brown, not nearly as fancy-feathered as the males. Very common here in south Florida along canals and waterways.
