This is the result of a sudden drop in temperature from 80 deg F to 22 deg F overnight.

Thanks Mike! I don't know how anything grows around here. There was no transition into winter, one day 80 degrees and the next 20 degrees. It reminds me of growing up in Montana. We would get a period of a few weeks in February or March of 60-plus degree weather, and the trees would start budding. The next thing, it would be 20 degrees below zero, and the trees got killed off a few feet above the ground.
