Turtles Catching some Rays
Lens: Sigma 135-400 APO Camera: Pentax KP Photo Location: Hendrix Nature Preserve ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F8

At the nature preserve plus one of the few birds that I saw on this sunny day.

MIke I am a bit jealous, we had 6 F yesterday plus wind chills.. It will be a bit before our turtles are up! Like the first shot.. Looks like he is saying " do you mind? I'm trying to sunbathe here!"

Thanks for the comments. Actually slim pickings at the nature preserve. Even though we were in the sixties yesterday, still not much stirring around. Thanks for ID of the bird. I have been shooting more volleyball than anything else. Our granddaughter is on a 15 and under traveling team.

Nice series of images Mike! I saw that the turtles were out on the mill pond in town last weekend, so I guess they figure the worst of the cold weather is behind us. I remember one year ago we had six inches of snow and six degrees above zero.

Thanks Todd. At that location last year, there was probably 16 inches of snow on top of the frozen pond. I know very well because my wife and I were stuck in a motel close to there for two days before we could attempt returning home. At least we were in walking distance to Wal-Mart, where she got her first Covid shot.
