A couple of images to show how their head and neck feathers show different colors depending on the lighting.

I like the little details you captured in each; the first with the droplets falling from the beak, the feet below the surface and shared by the reflected image on the second, the colors are striking in both!

Good demonstration of the color changes due to lighting. See the same type of effects in hummingbird images at times. Both of these images are well focused and show great detail and colors. Thanks for posting these interesting shots.

Nice Todd! I rarely see these here except way out there on the ocean and Ct River.. Nice job capturing it!

Thanks Al! We have a couple of pairs hanging around at the mill pond for the winter here in Boerne.
