I returned from shooting interesting sights in Auburn to find this miscreant just outside my gate.
The sun had set about five to ten minutes earlier, the sky's western glow gave a very pleasant soft golden finish to this golden flower.
I thought of scolding him / her for sneaking through the fence, but decided to save that for our rascal wiener dog--who definitely does know the rules about gates!

Yes! I agree!
That smooth solid color is what demanded that I drag my camera out.
Glad you appreciate that color!

Jer
Thanks!
I kept trying to make the flower's photo look as interesting as it was in life; I couldn't!
Then I looked at it once more through the gate boards and there it was!
Glad you liked it.
Angky.

Often, interesting and pretty images are found by chance. This is very good example. I agree with Jer, the flower is nicely framed by the gate. The golden color enhanced by the afternoon light is very nice.

Found by chance--yes, exactly!
That is what I discover over and over. So much of my photography is inspired by looking for what is going to take my attention in the next step. A fascinating process of discovery.

A very nice, creative composition Angky! The soft lighting really brings out the nice yellow colors of the bloom.

I really like this kind of light for the image quality; I just don't like it much when I can't get the image composed fast enough to catch the light!
