Evening Grosbeak. - male
Lens: Tamron 300 2.8 with 1.7x AF adapter Camera: K-3 Photo Location: My back yard ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/50s Aperture: F11

This is one of those photos you have no right to expect. ƒ11 for DoF, 100 ISO for low noise, part of a long sequence of motion blurred images... which all seems for nothing, until you get the one. 1/50s on a small bird makes for lots of images ruined by motion blur.Then you get "the one" and it's all worth it.

It really is the one that matters. Shooting at that shutter speed, it is difficult to get a shot like that. Great patience. I don't see the Evening Grosbeak in this area. Love its colors.

Very nice. They did not come by and visit Ottawa this year.
