Nature Glossy Ibis

It's nesting season in south Florida, this was taken from a boardwalk over wetlands belonging to a water treatment plant. The birds are so accustomed to people that you can get within 10 feet of some of these nests.

Very interesting catch of its profile.
I find it fascinating to just look at it and think what it must think of the world--huge long beak and tiny head as it has!

I'm a sucker for bird shots. I had a great time in the last couple years at a couple of wetland reserves near Ft. Myers and Sarasota on the gulf side. I'm rarely that far south on the east side of FL, but this sounds like an interesting spot. I'm saving to my Google maps "bird spot" list just in case!
