Misc Bad Lens Day

I've had a bad few weeks with lenses. A couple of weeks ago I fell with my D FA 21mm Ltd in hand and mangled the hood (I'm sending it off this week to see what the story is). Last week during routine cleaning of my lenses I found a fair amount of fungus on my DA 35mm f2.8 macro limited. I've had it since 2009 and it's gotten quite a lot of use, though a bit less since I bought the D FA 100mm macro. But it's been a great lens and this makes me sad.

I've had all my lenses in a humidity-controlled cabinet for the past couple of years, but I did live in some pretty humid environments over the past number of years (Korea, Panama, Hong Kong...).

Nice presentation, however it does not appear to be beyond being cleaned professionally.

Very distressing to see that!
I have been through that scenario, and it's not happy time!
When I lived in the tropics, I finally left my lenses open in a cabinet I built with a UV light tube shining.
That seemed to be the best I found.
