Nightaxians Episode 3 - "Weather" or not to shoot!

Nightaxians Episode 3 - "Weather" or not to shoot! Dark with a chance of night photography - talkin' weather.

We were recently asked about how weather affects our nights out. Since we all live in different areas of the country, we all have different answers.

That shot of the lightning in the Grand Canyon is well worth the risk of weather!
Angky.

In this case, I would have to say that weather contributed greatly to an already beautiful capture of the canyon. Colors and details are superb and the turbulent sky and lighting strikes added an exclamation point to the image. Well done.

Thanks. I had not planned on taking photos with this man is clouds or a storm. However, I am glad the storm occurred.

This was the first time I ever photographed lightning. I had to figure out which settings were best and the best way to capture lightning strikes, which thankfully wasn’t that hard (in terms of settings, I mean…I got LUCKY with the ideal conditions!).

A remarkable image. Captures the vast scale and majesty of "The Canyon", with dramatic skies and lightning to top it off. I like it!

Thanks! I had a long night that night. I eventually drove to Bedrock City and took photos there as well.

Well that's one way to avoid what happened every time I ever went there as a kid. I moved around a lot as a dirt poor navy brat. We visited a couple of the times we drove across the country to change stations and keep the same vehicle, but it was always dark and we couldn't stay.

Very nice photo!
