Car Show Scenes
Lens: DFA 28-105; DA*300 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Kemah, TX
Posted By: Sailor, 03-09-2022, 08:34 AM

Twice a year, the Lone Star Region of the Porsche Club of America (Houston area) sponsors a concours in which cars are judged on their condition and level of the owners' preparation. Non-judged cars (like mine) are allowed to park in the same area, and the concurs takes place in the boardwalk area of Kemah, TX which is located directly on Galveston Bay.

Normally, when attending a car show, I focus my camera only on individual cars, but this year I also sought to photograph "scenes" that would convey the atmosphere of the event. I used my trusty D FA 28-105, as always. Also, I brought my DA* 300 to get some sea bird shots while at Kemah, but - for some reason - the usual variety of gulls and pelicans were partying somewhere else. So, I played with the 300 to produce some of the pics below.

The last shot is one of my humble 911 Carrera Cabrio parked next to a couple of exotic red and green 911 GT3 RS's - rare birds, indeed.

Awesome photos of some desirable rolling stock, Jer. Isn't that yours in the last one? Re-reading your post, I'm glad to see your own beautiful Cabrio in there too

All the photos are great, but I particularly like #2... seeing the styles of three different era models, but with focus on the middle one. Very nice!

Thanks much, Mike! The second shot is my favorite, as well.

Good to see some of the things we have been missing. Beautiful cars and beautiful shots from all angles.

Sure is, EM. Almost surreal. I see a Porsche Macan and Cayenne occasionally, but coming upon another 911 on the road is a very rare occurrence.

Not only cars, but a lot of people enjoying hanging around with one another.
Something that hasn't been too frequent for a couple of years.
