Added some grain, vignetting, and a little motion blur to give the image a better feel...

Nice shot Marc. I like the PP on that one.
Thank you Scott - just came upon them getting setup at the right time!

Authentic right down to the cutains in the windows - excellent pp and wonderful shot.
Thanks Dave and much appreciated. That's the rebuild of Borden house after the civil war battle - it was burnt down, and only the foundation and chimney remained. They've been quite good about ensuring the authenticity side of things in the park.

Cheers,
Marc

Marc, there are some truly incredible faces in that group. That guy kneeling on the left with the doll and the fellow right above him by the flag are particularly good, but there are so many others. Distress that shot with some stains and scratches and it would pass as a period photo. Well done!
Jeff, thank you for such wonderful comments! I'll try your suggestion at some point and see what I get.

This is an incredible good authentic image Marc, thanks for showing us.
Thanks Heinrich! I think I need to learn more about Photoshop and get even better PP'ing shots.

Marc

Great shot Marc and really good PP. Except it is probably the best fed looking group in the whole Confederate army!!! It is amazing how prosperity and modern living shows up in the er....smoothness of our bodies!

I love the treatment on this one Marc. Did you get a shot from where the photographer who they were looking at was?
Unfortunately I don't think so... I'll have to check! Ah, more image review...

Marc

Well thank you sir! Glad you like it - it was almost a discard because of the blown out highlights on the right side, but the vignetting and judicious crop rescued the shot. They were in the shade of Borden House.

Thank you Georg - comments such as yours and from others tell me that I did the right thing in terms of PP'ing the image.

Marc, to make it more authentic you could have shot it at a slower shutter speed and had them move their eyes around. That's one thing I've noticed on really old photographs is that the subjects stand pretty still but are looking around making it look like they haven't any eyeballs!
