Redwing Blackbird In the Tule Weeds

Finally caught one of these guys showing off his red wing patches.
I'm finding that I have a lot to learn about this kind of animal capture photography.
I'm back to learning the very basic things about all of it--even about using the camera!
Observations / recommendations can only help!
Thanks.
Angky.

Great shot Angky. You got the right action to show the red wing patches and had a virtually perfect background to display the birds beauty. You are continuously expanding your photographic skills and interests. Keep shooting.

Thank you, Mike!
That is an encouragement.
A lot of "luck" and mistakes went into this image; I was very surprised when it turned out to be something that I could fix in PP.
Part of the trouble was the very stiff and erratic evening breeze--nearly a gale, I thought it was.
And my camera settings weren't ideal, as I found out.
Well, it was fun, and will be more fun as I learn more.
Thanks for the help!
Angky.

I am glad that you see it as you described it.
Very nearly was not caught on camera, and almost all the others I attempted were focus failures.
Thanks for the encouraging note!
Angky.

Very well done. Very sharp, colorful, the composition is spot on and the background support is truly amazing. Looking forward to many of more of your talented captures. Thanks very much for

the treat.

Perfect timing Angky! I really like the position of the wings with the fanned feathers and showing off those beautiful red patches. Good work!

Thank you, Tony!
I've been trying to find a way to make such images sharper. The point of focus is on the tips of the right-hand wing. But that's due to the bird's jump into the air.
I think I should have run a smaller aperture--yet I wanted to keep the shutter speed up there since it was hand-held.
Anyway, if it looks okay to you folks, then I can only say thanks for the encouragement.
Angky.

That timing and wing position was a big, but pleasant surprise to me when I got the image on the computer.
I hit the shutter just as I saw him start to open his wings; it just happened to come out right!
There's a lot to this bird photography, I'm finding out!
