Lens: D-FA 100 f/2.8 WR Macro Camera: K1ii
Posted By: GhostRed7, 03-16-2022, 07:55 AM

Just got some gear for my birthday. Part of which was the D-FA 100mm f/2.8 WR Macro. As a newb, of course i had to give it a spin. Below are the first results. The closer images were cropped to that from original pic.

Enjoy, yes the lens suffers from fringing when provided with the opportunity, but I have loved using this lens more than any other in my kit. Great for portraits (but not fast moving documentary style!) as well as macros, and the wr mean it is often my all weather pairing to the K1ii

Nice photos! Crops are sharp, too! Post some more. I have a DFA 100mm macro on the way. Have fun!

Very good work with that lens.
I also have the same lens and really do like it.
In fact, I've had its older brother, SMC Pentax-A 100mm f:2.8, since it was first released in / around 1986.
Same lens, essentially, but the newer one is a lot lighter.
It has long been my preferred camera lens, so much so that I now have to train my eye to "see" photo opportunities in focal lengths other than 100mm!
That was a great choice of a gift for you, and you have done some very great imaging in your posted shots.
Angky.

Since you asked lol...

This is another from the same set. Same bouquet, opposite angle, cranked ISO up to 12800. A little heavier on the saturation in processing.
I love this lens.

Thx! I didn't even realize i had it cranked up that high lol. I was doing Av so it probably automagically picked it or something.
