Over the years, I got 6 FA prime lenses : 20 mm, 28 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm, 135 mm and 300 mm.

K1 + FA 20 mm f/2.8

K3 + FA 28 mm f/2.8

K3 + FA 35 mm f/2

K3 + FA 50 mm f/1.7

K3 + FA 135 mm f/2.8

K3 + FA 300 mm f/4.5

These "old" FA lenses sure are good. In the film era, we always tried to get a similar set of prime lenses to be ready for any kind of situations. Now, zooms offer extremely good performance and we lost this attention to composition needed when using primes. Pentax just issued a new DFA 21 mm f/2.4, I'm not sure I would forfeit my FA 20 mm f/2.8 for it, the 20 mm is perfect for my needs, as are all the other 5 FA lenses.

This little FA 35 mm f/2 lens is extremely sharp, contrasty and resistant to flaring, all the qualities I'm looking for in a lens. Plus it sells for a very reasonable price.

I don't think I could do better with a Limited 31 mm f/1.8 lens which costs 3 times more.
