Pentax HD DA 16-85 mm ED compared to DFA 70-200 mm f/2.8 ED on a K3 III

I took the exact same pictures of freshly cut logs, first with the HD DA 16-85 mm f/3.5-5.6 ED lens (1/640 sec @ f/11 and 85 mm FL) then with the DFA 70-200 mm f/2.8 ED (1/1250 sec @ f/8 and 82,5 mm FL). Both images turned practically indentical on the K3 III. A splendid combination of WA zoom and telephoto zoom lenses.

Other than the second image being a little brighter, the images are virtually the same. Nice demo.

I think I can see a slight difference in color cast--a tiny bit blue in the bottom, with only the barest hint of red in the snow in the top one.
But the subject of the cut logs is what is most interesting to me. I've taken so many photos of a "deck of logs" and I always love to see one from another forest.
I'm wondering what kind of trees these are--maybe spruce?

Spruce is considered "soft wood", i.e. coniferous. This is a hardwood called "cherrywood" ("Merisier" in French, "Prunus avium" in Latin) used to build furniture and flooring material.
