We went to the San Antonio Botanical Garden last Friday for the first time. It has a very nice indoor display of tropical plants including many beautiful orchids.

A very worthwhile trip to the garden. Nice capture of all these interesting and colorful Orchids. Two cameras and lens on the visit?

Thanks Mike! Yes, my Peak Design sling bag carries two cameras nicely plus a couple of small lenses. It saves me the trouble of changing lenses, and it gave me a chance to give my K-5 a workout.

That would be handy. I should probably do that when I go to places with both wildlife and macro opportunities.

Right before Covid, we took a trip to NZ/Australia, and I took both cameras and three lenses. I kept my DA16-85 on the K-5 and the DA55-300 PLM on the K-3II. I also brought the DFA 100mm macro, but I think I only used it for a few shots. The set-up worked great everywhere we went. All that I had to do was zip the bag open and grab whichever camera was needed for the shot.

Well, I was thinking of posting some orchid shots I got a few minutes ago.
But I'll blame it on the poor quality of the flowers, that I'm not going to post them now!
Very nicely done!
Angky.

Thanks Angky! I am sure your images came out fine, and I would love to see them. The setting for these beauties at the botanical garden was perfect, I just needed to get them in focus.

Beautiful, Todd! The purple one is a vanda, the others are hybrid phalaenopsis. Very well captured!

Thanks Julie! I have to admit, I don't know the varieties by name, but I just love the colors and patterns.

Welcome! I do know many of them, but it's impossible to know them all -- orchids are the largest family of flowering plants on the planet! Estimated to be about 35,000 species, several hundred thousand hybrids. Always a pleasure to see well-captured blooming orchids, thanks for sharing!
