Thanks Mike! I managed to get a decent shot despite the back-lighting thanks to the K3iii.

Nice shot, Rob. And a good catch since they are not very common.

The K3-iii certainly handled the difficult lighting situation quite well.
But you might have to tune down that camera's excellent focus in future shots--unless you can convince the bird that he needs to wipe the food off his face before he gets his picture taken!
Great shot!
Angky.

Rob, you are going to have to stop doing this sort of thing: I am running out of ways to say "Amazing Pic" without being in danger of sounding like the needle is stuck in the groove!

Thanks! Luckily they are frequently seen around Canberra. Possibly more often since the fires. Also fortunately I have memorised the call of the Superb Parrot, so I knew he was there, and kept looking.

I had a shot of a Fairy-wren recently with a similar problem. Thank you!

Thank you! I really appreciate it! Comments like these make it worth the hassle of lugging the DFA 150-450 around. It would be easier to carry the 55-300 PLM, but I just can't get shots like this with it.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure that this photo was using the third custom mode I set up - with spot exposure for back-lighting. I really appreciate all the feedback.
