X-MAS Boat Parade
Posted By: Fl_Gulfer, 12-14-2008, 08:07 PM

Here are some shots of the Panama City Florida X-Mas Boat Parade held the 13th of December, and the sunset before it.
I took these with my New DA*50-135 (maybe not the best choice) But you can decide.
Please Click to Enlarge the photo's, These are unedited, just resized to post.

This was hand held as you can see but I loved the reflection

Not first place.. But the 2 dogs were funny.

The water in these last 2 shots looks so surreal

I have more shots of other boats if anyone cares to see them.
Thanks for Looking
Jack

I shot a boat parade in New Bern, NC over the past weekend as well. Up here they call it a Flotilla, I had never heard of the thing until my gf mentioned it to me. It was an extremely hard test of skill for me, panning boats with next to no light in some very cold conditions. I used the DA*200mm on most shots and the DA*16-50mm when they came in close.

Here are a few of mine, hope you don't mind me posting them, I wonder is anyone else been to a Flotilla this year.

Great shots! The Kemah/Clear Lake boat parade was great as well, but I took no shots this year, since I was making sure my granddaughter didn't end up in the water.

Breathtaking images there. The night scenes are truely beautifully captured. Carbon footprints not an issue there?
