Snowgeese are here. Spring has finally arrived ! · **3 Likes**

Three images taken today near the Saint Lawrence River. Snowgeese resting and feeding on the shore of the river before flying into the Arctic to reproduce. First image taken @ 55 mm FL, second image @ 190 mm (slightly cropped to remove intrusions) and third image @ 300 mm FL.

Terrific shots of a lot of geese. I really like the contrast and silhouettes of the geese in the first image.

The top image particularly is a tough test for any lens. The lens has to be sharp edge-to-edge, have terrific contrast and must be extremely resistant to flare and ghosting. This lowly "consumer grade" DA lens passes with flying colors.
