I know some of you folks have more miles than this (just turned over last week).

1988 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup

Well, you asked for it!

Here is the odometer on my 1988 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. Still gets me around, so why buy a new one!?!

(Taken with Pentax K100DS, Vivitar-A 28mm f2.8, ISO200.)

My truck odometer just clicked 400,000km (250,000 miles) last Saturday. I'll probably put another quarter million on it (at least) before it gets retired.

A more telling photo than the odometer would be the holes my shoes have worn in the floorboard. I've worn holes through a couple of mats, almost through the one I have now, and wore a hole through the original carpet and matting down to bare metal. Replaced the rubber clutch pedal pad at about 350,000km as it was worn through and starting to shred, with the metal getting shiny and worn behind it. The rubber on the brake pedal is a mess.

And I'd hate to guess how many pairs of shoes I've worn out in the process.

My hands have worn the texture off the steering wheel in spots, and worn the top of the gearshift down such that some of the numbers are starting to disappear.

In stark contrast to anyone's odometer, especially Mike's, my new bike is hibernating in my garage.
I'm not sure who put the .9 kilometer on it, but it sure wasn't me.

Spring can't come soon enough!

From the sound of it, it'll be a well earned rest for that truck.

Stark contrast indeed! I guess there will be a lot more than .9 this time next year.

If humans were fitted with odometers...

....perhaps my missus would have traded me in long ago :->

A different take on a mileage/odometer shot:

Bumper to bumper driving to Nice on the Boulevard Rainier III
istD & Sigma 30mm F1.4 200asa raw (approx 50% crop)

I retired my last ute with 289,000km (approx 180,000mi) on it ... it was a 2001 model as well. No online pics of it though that i can access ... but i have some images of it just prior to that. I put 180,000km on it in 4 years or ownership though.

Now my current personal/work ute had 85,000km on it when i bought it a few months back ... it just clicked over 100,000km the other day ... i am hoping to hit the 500,000km mark in the next few years with it .... will see how it goes.
