Dogtown Lake Day 1
Lens: Pentax D FA 150-450mm Camera: K-3 III Photo Location: Dogtown Lake, AZ

I was just setting up camp and didn't have much time to go anywhere, but these two were nice enough to come and visit. Not the greatest shots, but tomorrow it'll be time to get out on the water early and see what I can shoot.

Very nice images. Unsure of the IDs. Is that a Hairy woodpecker and an Eastern Bluebird? Good detailed images with nice colors and great bokeh. Thanks for posting.

Many thanks to those two birds for just coming by to visit.
They make excellent images, even though you weren't yet looking for such.

Very nice captures. I really like the lighting on the bluebird.

I think you are right for the woodpecker, but I believe the other is a Western Bluebird. Fits the location better. I'm really liking the bokeh on the 150-450.

Thank you. I'm thanking them a lot right now. Been a quiet day by the lake. Kind of windy and the birds and animals seem to be hiding. I did see a nice 8pt or so buck, but it saw me first and was out of there before I could even get the camera up.

Thank you, I was trying to wait for the woodpecker to go to the other side of the tree to get that same light, but he wouldn't cooperate.
