Fruiting Yucca plant, Joshua Tree Nat'l Park, CALIFORNIA
Lens: DFA 28-105 mm HD Camera: Pentax K1 Photo Location: California ISO: 125 Shutter Speed: 1/50s Aperture: F11

Yucca Tree near my camping site in Joshua Tree nat'l Park, California. Pentax K1 + DFA 28-105 mm HD lens @ f/11. Natives used to harvest these fruit and make jam with them, they are very sweet.

Those are big plants. Nice shots in their natural terrain.

Better not fall on the spikes of a Yucca or you're a dead man. Gawd, the trunks and branches of these desert plants are pointed and stiff.

Jammed one of those yucca spikes deep into my leg one time!
Never did get a chance to test the fruit.

A red fruit similar to pomegranate. Granular and sweet for making jams.
