Gray and White Bird

I'm anything but an ornithological guru, but I believe this character is a juvenile little blue heron, as suggested by long-time forum member Susan (slopez) - who is an ornithological guru - over on Flickr. The bird is like nothing I've seen, so I'm happy to have been able to capture it.

Great capture Jer! I saw one of these by the creek in Boerne and had no idea what it was, but I came to the same conclusion when researching it. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera.

Nice capture, Jer. I'll have to trust ID to those who know. Good detail and a smooth bokeh.

Little blue herons like that in their first year then the feathers turn to dark blue.

GEEEZZZZ! What a superb wildlife capture. Man, I love the way you drew a bead on the eye, so razor sharp. Colors are spectacular along with that awesome background support.

What a beauty and a million thnx for sharing. )

You have progressed into quite a bird photographer which is fortunate for me since I may not see such a bird here . TFS

I really like the background separation and how you framed this with the deck. Excellent photo!
